THE SIDEKICK
This is The SideKick, an accessory container that brings cold storage, dry storage and a prep room to support growing operations. The 320-square-foot container is climate controlled, and the walk-in cooler allows farm operators to keep harvested veggies or mushrooms until they’re ready for delivery, and store temperature-sensitive inputs, like grain spawn for mushrooms. The dry storage area gives farmers a place to put plant seeds, liquid nutrients, grow plugs, packaging materials, barley seed for fodder, as well as hardwood pellets and soybean hulls (for Gourmet Mushroom Farm substrate). A sink in the prep area enables farmers to wash harvested goods and adhere to food safety practices.
